John H. Addison, MD,FACP
About
Dr. Addison is a geriatrician, Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and board-certified internist for Geriatric Medicine of BCH.
Dr. Addison received his medical degree from University of Washington, Seattle, Wash. He completed his internal medicine internship at University of Oregon Medical Center, Portland, Oregon and his residency in internal medicine at University of Washington Medical Center, Seattle, Washington. Prior to studying medicine, he graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree, from Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass.
Before moving to Colo., Dr. Addison was a longtime resident of Mercer Island, Wash., where he was the owner and medical director of Northwest Geriatrics. He has been an active physician for hospice services and palliative care, as well as primary care of the elderly. For ten years he was the medical director of Overlake Senior Health Center on Mercer Island, Wash. Prior to that, he was a partner of Virginia Mason Medical Center, Seattle, Wash., and before that Minor & James Medical, also in Seattle. He left these institutions to form his own practice to pay special attention to the frail elderly.
Dr. Addison and his wife are the proud parents of three grown children and three grandchildren. When he is not seeing patients, Dr. Addison loves golfing, skiing, mountaineering, classical music and soccer.
