Taking the first step toward safety & stability | BCH Inpatient Behavioral Health
- Category: Mental Health
The Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit's thoughtfully designed environment on the third floor of the Della Cava Medical Pavilion offers intervention, safety and stabilization – on a voluntary and involuntary basis - for adults in acute emotional crisis.
Our comprehensive inpatient program provides cognitive behavioral therapy, medication management, family involvement, and autonomous decision-making with the goal of personal independence and a successful return to the community.
To encourage healing, our patients can participate in wellness and relaxation groups; education groups with topics like coping skills, communication, problem solving, stress management and relapse prevention; health goal development sessions, and art therapy groups. The unit’s structured schedule offers plentiful opportunities for patients to visit in person or talk on the phone with friends and family; soak up sunlight and fresh air in the rooftop garden; and choose from a wide selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner options.
Our interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, physician assistants, licensed clinical social workers and behavioral health technicians meet patients where they’re at to offer the best in personalized treatment and trauma-informed care.
