Breast cancer survivor gifts handmade pillows to mastectomy patients
- Category: Cancer
A local breast cancer survivor is giving back to those fighting the same battle she did. Jen Willard gifts handmade pillows to mastectomy patients, bringing comfort to those who have undergone surgery.
"After you have surgery, you can't have that seat belt pressing up against you after your mastectomy. I know what it meant to me when I got mine. That someone would think of you during such a scary, vulnerable time," said Willard of nonprofit, JWill Pink Village. BCH Breast Cancer Navigator Nanna Bo Christensen, RN, OCN, CBCN, adds, “Not only medically a pillow makes a huge difference, but it also symbolizes the love from the community.”
