A prescription for walking as a part of a regular exercise routine can be as effective as prescribing a drug in some cases, says Dr. Sherrie Ballantine-Talmadge, an orthopedic surgeon and family medicine physician at CU Sports Medicine & Performance Center and BCH.
A few tips: Figure out what kind of activities you enjoy. Break it into 15 minute intervals throughout the day. Celebrate your success daily--and stick to it!
