The Boulder Community Health Foundation Patient Assistance Funds play a vital role in helping individuals overcome social and economic barriers to health care. These programs are made possible through the generosity of our community, and their impact grows each year. At the BCH Foundation, we believe everyone should have a fair opportunity to reach their full physical and mental health potential. We understand that not everyone has equal access to health care, and that many factors beyond health care itself affect our health. While Boulder Community Health cannot solve all the health challenges the Boulder community faces, the BCH Foundation works to improve access to care and provide the support needed to enhance the well-being of BCH patients and the broader community. One of the most important ways we support our community is through our three Patient Assistance Funds, which provide vital help to individuals facing the social and economic challenges that arise during cancer, cardiology, or behavioral health treatment. The Red Lipstick FundSince 2012, The Red Lipstick Fund has been offering low barrier financial assistance to those in need while receiving treatment for cancer at the Tebo Family Medical Building. Grants are being made to support medical costs and social determinants of health needs which are non-medical factors that influence health outcomes like transportation, housing, childcare, and others.
“I wish to offer my deep gratitude for the generous support I received from the fund this year as I went through a challenging time of diagnosis and treatment. Your support meant the world to me. I'm happy to share that my condition is good now, and I hope to see my granddaughter finish high school. You are wonderful.” A Red Lipstick Fund Recipient
Donate to support The Red Lipstick Fund Heart to Heart Fund Since 2023, the Heart to Heart fund supports patients in overcoming the barriers to accessing and optimizing their care; as well as supporting their quality of life as they deal with the difficult reality of a cardiac related diagnosis.

"Recently, my husband and I were grateful to receive assistance from the Heart to Heart Fund after he faced serious medical issues in December and January, which included a costly potassium medication with a high co-pay. This unexpected expense was challenging on our fixed income, and we were incredibly relieved to be offered support through the Heart to Heart Fund. We are deeply thankful for this resource and for how quickly Gina, the Nurse Navigator, addressed our needs. We truly appreciate the help—it made all the difference." A Heart to Heart Fund recipient
Donate to support Heart to Heart Fund Anchor Point Mental Health Endowment Since 2018, The Anchor Point Mental Health Endowment offers grants to enable individuals to receive mental health care and support services that would otherwise not be available to them. These grants are being made across four core priority areas: transitions, treatment, health and wellness, and education.

A 35-year-old Medical Assistant at a BCH Primary Care clinic recently lost her father unexpectedly due to complications from a stroke. Her father was the primary provider for their household, which includes her, her 19-year-old daughter, and her 71-year-old mother. Without life insurance or death benefits, the family is facing severe financial strain. They must move from their home of 13 years, but after paying an $800 deposit for affordable housing, they can't cover the first month's expenses. The Anchor Point Mental Health Endowment provided a grant to cover these costs, offering the family stability in their new home and allowing the patient to focus on healing and supporting her family.
