And the 2024 Movement Challenge winner is…. Michelle C. from Boulder!

With 6,172 total movement entries and over 7,800 hours of movement, we are so glad you all joined us!

And the winner is…. Michelle C. from Boulder!

Congratulations to the grand prize winner of Boulder Community Health’s 3rd Annual Movement Challenge, Michelle C. who won $500 in prizes!

Michelle told us, "Well, I was pleasantly surprised to get the BCH opportunity to participate in something non-confrontational that would keep me accountable for some form of exercise that would be simple and of my own choosing. The timing was great! This turned out to be a daily walk and/or weights. I walked about a week and a half with light, free weights every other day until I hurt my knee. So, having made the promise to myself to do something, I upped the weights a little and added crunches. It’s now a habit!

I miss it when I don’t do it. This was the whole point of it for me, I had discontinued a gym membership to save money and lost interest in exercising.

I really appreciate BCH’s involvement with its employee’s health.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!"

But that’s not all!

The following participants have all won bonus prizes for their age group categories!

Under 18: Naomi R. – "It's been fun. I got to go for lots of walks with my grandparents' dog, Seneca. I never thought I would win the challenge!"

18 – 29: Emilie A.

30 – 39: Melissa F. – This challenge was a lovely way to recognize how much I am doing for my health without having to go to the gym. Yard work, playing with my toddler, chasing my dog - these are all things that count when the intention is to keep moving."

Thanks for the opportunity!

40 – 49: Katie F.

50 – 59: Annamarie D.

60 – 69: Mark H.– "The 2024 BCH Movement Challenge provided me an extra incentive to continue a regiment of outdoor exercise and activity. Having retired this year, I strive to run outside every other day (100+ miles in September). Having won my age group is mostly luck, it does recognize my effort. Thank you."

70 – 79: MJ L.

80+: Robert H.

BCH Staff Wellness Challenge

Amy S., Rosemary K., and Sandy O. are bonus prize winners in our special BCH Staff challenge! Thank you for participating in our Health & Wellness activities.

Amy S. says "This challenge was just what I needed to get me back on track to my exercise routine. I made sure I was getting a minimum of 10,000 steps per day. This is pretty easy to do with a Boarder Collie as a companion. The challenge also in a way, connected me to BCH. Working remotely, I don’t get to the facility often and it was a way to connect to BCH outside of emails and conference calls. Thank you again."

Rosemary K. says "The movement challenge gave me a concrete reason to get outside every day, especially on the weekends when I would normally give myself every excuse to stay in. Now I’ve got so many more adventures planned. Thanks BCH for kickstarting an adventure journey that I cannot wait to continue."

Sandy O. says "The Movement Challenge definitely motivated me to move more than I normally would have. It was good timing for me this year, as I have been striving to get healthier habits ingrained into my days. The one category I really struggle with is exercise. The prizes gave additional motivation, and it was fun to have that pay off with a win!! Thanks to everyone who works to put this challenge together."

Honorable mention for all those who participated all 30 days – you understood the challenge!
