Newsweek names Foothills Hospital among America’s Best-in-State Hospitals 2025

Newsweek listed Foothills Hospital in its ranking of America's Best-in-State Hospitals 2025, a testament to Boulder Community Health’s (BCH) commitment to exceptional patient care. The prestigious honor, developed in partnership with Statista — a global statistics and industry ranking platform — highlights 700 top-performing hospitals across the country, helping patients identify trusted, high-quality medical care within their communities.

The America’s Best-In-State Hospitals 2025 ranking was created to identify the top hospitals at the state level. It was limited to hospitals with a minimum 50-bed capacity. Fifty-four Colorado hospitals met this criteria but only 13 made the ranking, with Foothills Hospital ranking twelfth in the state.

“Knowing which hospital to turn to for the best care close to home is important, especially for surgery or in a time of medical crisis such as a heart attack or stroke. For the communities BCH serves, that hospital is Foothills Hospital,” said Ben Keidan, MD, Chief Medical Officer of BCH. "This recognition reflects the exceptional commitment and dedication of our team members. Every day, they strive to deliver top-tier, patient-centered care, driven by a culture of compassion, innovation and clinical excellence.”

The ranking was compiled using hospital quality metrics sourced from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS); the American Hospital Association’s Annual Survey of Hospitals Database; the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) patient experience surveys; Newsweek’s nationwide online survey of medical professionals; and, Statista’s survey on Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs).

In addition to quality metrics and patient satisfaction, the 2025 ranking included an emphasis on health care equity and accreditation data from The Joint Commission (TJC) and the American College of Surgeons (ACS).

“This year’s rankings celebrate the outstanding hospitals that are setting new standards for patient care and innovation. We’re proud to highlight the facilities making a meaningful impact in their communities by consistently delivering exceptional health care,” said Josh Smith, Newsweek’s Director of Growth and Strategic Partnerships.
