Get to know the BCH Foundation's patient assistance funds

The Boulder Community Health Foundation invests in three "patient assistance" programs which each support individuals in overcoming the social and economic barriers to health; the Anchor Point Mental Health Endowment, The Red Lipstick Fund, and Heart to Heart.
Each of these three, unique programs function as micro-grants for patients to help improve their access to health care and support them in reaching their full health potential.
In 2018 the BCH Foundation established the Anchor Point Mental Health Endowment -- a fund supporting the mental well-being of our patients along the continuum of care, empowering them to strengthen and maintain their personal independence as they address their mental health.
- Since 2018, 348 grants have been awarded from the Anchor Point Mental Health Endowment
- $184,159 has been awarded from the Anchor Point Mental Health Endowment in the past four years

The Red Lipstick Fund offers financial assistance to local cancer patients at Boulder Community Health so they have one less worry and can focus on getting through their cancer treatment. The fund is incredibly unique in that patients are recommended for grants by the health care team and there is no red tape or application process. A doctor, nurse or nurse navigator sees a patient with a need and contacts the BCH Foundation to issue funds from The Red Lipstick Fund.
- Since 2012 1,769 small grants have been awarded to Oncology patients to support everyday expenses, childcare, transportation, integrative care and more while receiving care at BCH for a cancer diagnosis
- $725,242 has been awarded in grant funding to patients in the past ten years

Heart to Heart is a brand new fund as of 2023 and will support patients in overcoming the barriers to accessing and optimizing their care; as well as supporting their quality of life as they deal with the difficult reality of a cardiac-related diagnosis. Modeled after The Red Lipstick Fund at BCH, Heart to Heart will offer financial assistance to local cardiac patients at Boulder Heart so they have one less worry and can focus on prevention, treatment and management of their cardiac health.
