Gout can strike suddenly, often in the middle of the night, causing excruciating pain and swelling in joints. It usually strikes a big toe, but can also affect the ankle, knee, foot, elbow or finger. The affected joint throbs endlessly and becomes so tender that even the slightest touch can be unbearable. Luckily, new and effective treatments are available.
Our speaker is rheumatologist Dr. Stuart Weisman. He will discuss the diagnosis and management of gout, including the latest treatment advances.
When: Tuesday, Jan. 30, from 7 to 8 p.m.
Where: Boulder Jewish Community Center, 6007 Oreg Ave.
