Stroke is the 4th leading cause of death for women and is twice as common as breast cancer. Recently, BCH's Dr. Alan Zacharias with Associated Neurologists spoke with Channel 7's Nicole Brady about women and stroke risk.
According to Dr. Zacharias, there are some important lifestyle changes you can make to limit your risk for stroke such as making sure you get regular exercise, following a heart healthy diet, avoiding tobacco and having regular check ups with your primary care provider.
Boulder Community Health has been awarded Advanced Certification as a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. For more information, visit bch.org/stroke.
