We snapped this photo of a mom Amiee Shirk and her son, Max, who came to visit their former NICU nurses at Foothills Hospital and bring them flowers. Max is now a healthy six-year-old!
They asked for their nurses Pat Morrison, R.N. (pictured left) and Kris Leader R.N. (right) who happened to be working. We love a reunion with our babies!
Our innovative Special Care Nursery–the first of its kind in the United States—is a specially designed, home-like environment where premature infants or those with medical needs can grow and gain weight faster, become strong enough to breathe on their own, and go home from the hospital sooner with more confident parents.
