BCH Partners for 'Nature Kids' Injury Prevention Event

This past Saturday Boulder Community Health partnered with Community Cycles and Nature Kids/Jovenes de la Naturaleza Lafayette for an injury prevention event.

Community Cycle's Jennifer Shriver and staff donated bikes to children while BCH’s Joan DePuy donated helmets and demonstrated to children and parents about “thinking first” for injury prevention.

The children were able to experience hands on skills with our ThinkFirst™ brain, skull and spine models and learned about preventing injury, such as a concussion or traumatic brain injury when biking by simply wearing a well-fitted bike helmet.

BCH donated and fit 75 helmets,75 medical ID’s, 60 chapsticks and numerous ThinkFirst™ coloring books to children in our community.
