We believe providing the community with the highest value in health care requires an innovative, patient-centered environment.
In order to ensure BCH remains a viable health care organization of choice, the Foundation invests in BCH identified service lines to enable expansion, improvement, and innovative care.
The BCH Foundation aims to make an impact by investing in the following programmatic areas:
Supporting selected service lines with the resources to expand access to high quality, comprehensive care.
Care Optimization Programs
Cardiology Nurse Navigator - Nurse navigator role within the Boulder Heart team, to provide navigation of services and additional support for patients identified within a specific set of parameters. This role increases preventative support services, reduces patient barriers, and ensures BCH remains a health system of choice for cardiac related illnesses in Boulder County.
Palliative Care Program - Providing salary support for a general trauma surgeon with expertise in palliative care will strengthen the existing palliative care team at BCH. This initiative will enable more in-depth discussions with patients facing high-risk surgical procedures, ensuring that the care team fully understands and honors the patient’s preferences and wishes.
Trauma Underwriting - Fostering collaboration within the trauma team and across departments to explore innovative, evidence-based strategies aimed at enhancing the quality of care for BCH patients during unexpected traumatic events.
Two Nurse Care Managers Geriatric Program - Providing exceptional care for aging patients requires a clinical geriatric team that includes nurse care managers. With their specialized skills, nurses are uniquely suited to manage and triage geriatric patients effectively. As the BCH Geriatrics service line expands, the Foundation is supporting these roles to accelerate growth and ensure high-quality care from the outset.
Supporting the ongoing growth of BCH with capital investments.
Capital Investment examples
Tebo Cancer Center Waiting Room Refresh: The Tebo Cancer Center was built in 2007 as a state-of-the-art facility, and since then, there have been few updates made to the front waiting area. The goal of the project was to update this space to create a welcoming and healing place for patients and staff alike, to match the exemplary services provided in the building.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Machine (TMS Machine): As part of expanding the range of Interventional Psychiatry services at BCH, the TMS machine provides a minimally invasive option to treat patients with treatment-resistant mood disorders. This technology offers new hope and effective care for those who have not responded to traditional treatments.
