Philosophy of Care
“I thrive as an interventional cardiologist due to the ever-changing nature of the field, where ongoing research is always improving our knowledge of the cardiovascular system and advancing the treatment options open to my colleagues and me.
I recognize that what makes cardiology exciting for me can sometimes be overwhelming for patients and their families as they navigate information about heart disease and treatment options. My philosophy is to serve as a partner to my patients. I enjoy educating them about the latest evidence relevant to their conditions so that they can feel comfortable with decisions about their cardiovascular health. I encourage them to play an active role in making the best decisions for their health and lifestyle so that they can continue to enjoy life to its fullest.” - Dr. Shapiro

Looked at watch 3 times during appt. I had to ask about cardio rehab. Supposedly made referrals for cardio rehab and blood work, never done. Obviously didn't read hospital notes before arriving.

Excellent. Down to earth with me. We had the same recovery objectives.
