Rachel Cooke, PA-C

About

Rachel Cooke holds a Master of Clinical Medical Science degree (MCMSc) and is a certified physician assistant (PA-C). She is a surgical assistant who assists with general and vascular procedures, including laparoscopic and robotic procedures.

A graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder, Rachel has a BS in Integrative Physiology and a BA in Spanish Language and Literature. She went on to earn her Master of Clinical Medical Science degree from Barry University’s Physician Assistant Program in St. Croix, USVI, where she received the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence.

Prior to joining Boulder Valley Surgical Associates, Rachel was a transplant surgery physician assistant at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora and served on the Wellness Committee there. At BCH, she continues to serve on the Organ Donation Committee.

Beyond work, Rachel enjoys skiing, biking, hiking with her dog, and of course, spending time doing all kinds of big and small things with her daughter.

Philosophy of care

I believe a team-centered approach, including within BVSA and with other specialists, is the best to achieve exceptional outcomes for our patients. I think it is also very important to listen to patients and meet them where they are coming from.
