About This Event
- Event Type:Support Groups
In partnership with Workforce Boulder County, this group provides a safe space for survivors of brain injury and their caretakers to share experiences and stories without fear of stigmas or judgement. This will also be an opportunity to increase awareness of the various types of brain injuries such as Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), mild head injury or concussion, stroke, brain aneurysm, brain hemorrhage, brain tumor, brain surgery, carbon monoxide poisoning, encephalitis, dementia etc. Those living with these brain injuries may also experience post-traumatic amnesia, disinhibition, impulsiveness, irritability or aggression, perseveration, egocentricity, personality changes, or chronic fatigue.
Subject matter experts will be brought in during some meetings to provide best practices on how to live with brain injury, recover from brain injury or support someone who is a survivor of brain injury.
This group will meet on the BCH campus in the Della Cave Family Medical Pavilion in the Caruthers Conference Room at 4747 Arapahoe Ave, Boulder CO, 80303. Meetings will be held on the Third Thursday of each month from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.
