Bare Basic of Childbirth is an in-person one-day intensive class that gives first-time parents (or parents who want a refresher) valuable tools and evidence-based information to prepare for your birth. Our instructor is a specially trained registered nurse, childbirth educator, doula and public health nurse. Topics covered are the normal physical and emotional experiences of late-stage pregnancy, labor, and birth including natural options for coping with labor, possible medical interventions, inductions, cesarean birth, medical options for coping with labor including nitrous oxide, anesthesia and epidurals.
The benefits of birthing at BCH and a tour of the Family Birth Center is included during the class.
This is a long class, there will be an hour break for lunch. Cost of class includes a support person.
Please note with this class it is suggested to take the Capable, Confident, and Coping Labor Techniques Class if you take the Bare Basics class, it is not included.
Fee: $100 per couple
Cancellations: If you cancel your registration before 5 business days before class begins, your registration fee will be refunded or transferred to another class. No refunds or transfers will be given after this time.

There are rare instances we may have to cancel a class due to low enrollment or an emergency. A full refund will be given or you will be transferred into the next class. Every effort will be made to make up the class.
In the event of bad weather, such as a snowstorm, an email will be sent our notify you regarding the cancellation.
