Volunteers from all walks of life and every local community choose to give their time and energy to Boulder Community Health. Volunteering at BCH is rewarding. When you volunteer, you enrich the lives of others and feel a sense of accomplishment and personal satisfaction. As a BCH volunteer, you can put your talents and experience to work for a good cause while becoming a part of a friendly, caring team and even explore possible health care careers.

Volunteer Application Form
Anyone aged 15 to 90+, can choose to work with patients or in a non-patient environment. We offer many jobs, including:
- Assisting patients and their families
- Assisting with the infant hearing assessment program
- Helping physical therapy patients
- Delivering messages, flowers and mail
- Helping staff on medical/surgical units
- Performing office or computer work
- Working in the gift shops
For a complete list of opportunities visit our Opportunities Directory. Openings are available weekdays, evenings and weekends. The minimum volunteer commitment is for 6 months, or one full semester for college students.
All volunteers must be at least 15 years old.

Full-time College Volunteer Application Form
At BCH, we welcome and encourage full-time college students to apply for volunteer opportunities. Complete and submit this application no later than Thursday, Dec 12th, 2024 5:00 pm for the Spring 2025 Semester. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered for Spring 2025. Applicants must be able to attend the required Health Screening in person Wednesday January 8th, 2025, between 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Volunteer Services Staff
Tom Dueber, Volunteer Services Manager
Tom grew up in Longmont, Colorado and returned to the area after earning his BA at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. He started his career at BCH doing marketing for the CU Sports Medicine and Performance Center and worked on the front-line during the pandemic as a COVID-19 Screener at the main Foothills Campus. Tom has 20+ years of experience as a manager and director in the fitness and wellness industries and is an active member of the St. Vrain Valley Schools Career Development Center Health Sciences Advisory Committee.
Melanie Aronhalt, Volunteer Coordinator
Melanie grew up in Wichita, Kansas where she received her BS in Psychology at Wichita State University. She and her husband Gary made the big move out to Colorado in 2000 and now feel very much at home enjoying an active Colorado life. Melanie went back to school in 2008 and received a Masters of Nonprofit Management from Regis University. She started working in volunteer services in 2015 at Denver Rescue Mission and received her Certification in Volunteer Administration in 2019. Melanie started at BCH in early 2022 and enjoys matching people with a great volunteer opportunity that is beneficial to both the volunteer and the mission of BCH.
