VeloNews - November 12th, 2008 Project Pruitt: A cyclist tries to come back from a nagging knee injury Tom LeCarner, VeloNews’ copy editor, is a 41-year-old longtime cyclist and former racer who has been struggling with tendonitis this year. Specialized has offered to help Tom overcome his injuries with its Body Geometry equipment and treatment by Andy Pruitt of the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine. Tom will report on if and how he progresses in a regular column on VeloNews.com. His first piece here gives some background of the causes of his injuries. VeloNews - November 19th, 2008 A visit to the Sports Clinic delivers answers to a wounded rider itching to get back on his bike Well, today was my first meeting with Andy Pruitt at the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine. I was warmly greeted by staff, filled out the requisite paperwork and waited to be called in. As I waited I noticed, among the many motivational photos of the outdoors, that there were various autographed photos of athletes from around the world thanking Pruitt for his help; I was quietly hoping that the day would soon come when I’d be able to send him a photo of myself offering him my thanks… VeloNews - December 11th, 2008 Project Pruitt: The Fit Session It was a crisp fall day here in Boulder as I pulled up to the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine with my bike on my car and all my gear in a bag. I was swiftly directed to the locker room and changed into my kit while my bike was rolled away to the fit lab by a staff member for “calibration.” VeloNews - December 19th, 2008 In his Efforts to get back on his bike, Columnist Tom LeCarner has some setbacks At the end of my last visit with Andy Pruitt and Sean Madsen, they gave me specific instructions for my next step in this process: a strict regimen of physical therapy. I was also told to come back to the fit lab once I had accumulated 500 miles in my new riding position. So, out I went. VeloNews - January 19th, 2009 Injured Cyclist shares some of his stretches These are the words a cyclist doesn’t ever really want to hear: “you’re off the bike for a while.” I heard those words a few weeks ago from my physical therapist, Tami Dick, after a particularly painful ride. Team Saxo Bank experiences BG fit with ANDY PRUITT New bike sponsor for Team Saxo Bank, Specialized Bicycle, convinced Team Saxo Bank owner Bjarne Riis that properly fitting bikes are just what his riders needed to win more races. They introduced them to its innovative BG FIT (Body Geometry Fit Intergration Technology) bike fit system developed by Andy Pruitt, director of the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine and longtime bike-fit guru among U.S. pros.
