HOPE Group©: Healing, Orientation & Options, Peer Support, & Education

This six-week educational group is intended for patients and their caregivers who are new to cancer, newly
diagnosed, or in the midst of treatment. We will orient you to the resources available to support you and will share
tools and strategies for managing, coping and healing through diagnosis and treatment. No fee. Advance

Breast Cancer Support Group

This group is for breast cancer patients who would like to connect with other women as they travel through the breast cancer journey. Educational materials,  local resources, speakers and various activities are all a part of this group.

Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Blood Cancer Support Group

This group is for patients, family members and friends affected by a diagnosis of a blood cancer including leukemia, Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and multiple myeloma.  No fee.

Every 3rd Tuesday from 6:00 - 7:30 pm

Ovarian & Gyn Cancer - "Nicki's Circle"

Valued-Living Group (for Post-Treatment Survivors Experiencing Distress)

Have you completed primary treatment and are experiencing cancer survivorship related distress, depression, or anxiety?  If so, consider participating in a paid seven-week evidence based skill building group and research study.  The goal of the program is to help you cope skillfully and move forward living a life that you value.

Life After Treatment Support Group

Completing treatment is a major milestone and for many, it means that it’s time to resume regular activities and go back to the lives they had before cancer.  However, we know this can lead to unique stressors and anxiety about a wide range of psychological issues. The purpose of this group is to provide counseling and education on practical issues surrounding cancer survivorship.  Topics will include stress management, sleeping, dating, relationships, coping with body image, and finding deeper meaning after receiving and surviving a cancer diagnosis.  Free for cancer patients.

Living With Metastatic and Advanced Cancer

Please join us for a time of discussion, information gathering, and support.  Talk with other people who are living with stage IV, metastatic or advanced cancer.  No fee.

Healing Through Music and Drumming

When music and support from others are used in harmony many sacred healing moments can take place. This group uses music to build connections with ourselves, others, and with life, giving opportunity for expression, laughter and release. A positive experience is based on your love of music and being open to trying something new rather than any kind of musical skill or background. Instruments are provided. Group meets once per month at various times. Fee: $10.

Rediscovering My Body After Cancer: A Class for Women

Many women find that intimacy and sexuality changes after or during cancer treatment.  This is a six-week course designed to help women rediscover themselves after cancer treatment.  Fee $90.  Please contact Tara Galeano for class dates and times at Tara@BoulderSexTherapy.com.

 

Caregivers and Loved Ones Support Group

Acupuncture Clinic

Clear the Fog - Promoting Cognitive Function, Wellness and Balance – Post-cancer Treatment to “Clear the Fog.”

This Program offers a series of six topics for cancer patients experiencing fogginess associated with their cancer diagnoses and treatments. Topics include time management, cognitive retraining, planning, pacing, goal setting and strategy development. Fee $60.

Cancer Survivors Make Waves

A one hour class in Mapleton’s warm water pool (92-94⁰) for women at any stage of recovery who have been diagnosed with cancer.  Post surgical participants are welcome if the class requirements are met.  Fee $66 for a 6-vist punch card.  Please call to register before attending.  Contact Dale Korba 303-441-2319

 

Cancer Rehabilitation Exercise Class

 

This is an exercise class for people diagnosed with cancer, no matter how recent.  Each participant will receive an individualized exercise plan to work on within the group.  Fee $132 (six weeks, twice weekly).  Please call for reservations and pre-class assessment.  Contact Brandy Whitney, PT, DPT, at 303-441-2209x3

 

Look Good...Feel Better®

This is a class for cancer patients that addresses appearance related side effects, which can occur during cancer treatment.  These classes are free, but reservations are required.  Meets from 12-2pm on the first Monday of each month (September’s meeting is 9/8/14 from 3-4pm).  Other dates, times, and locations are available throughout Colorado.

The American Cancer Society provides free wigs, hats and scarves for people with cancer.  Ask at the Tebo Family Medical Building 2nd floor front desk if you would like to see the selection.
