Update August 16, 2011

Plans for the 46,000 sq. ft. two-story Medical Office Building have been approved by the City of Boulder and construction bids are now being solicited for the project.  We expect to break ground on the facility in October.  The building, which is expected to open late in 2012, will house a new heart center and outpatient surgery center along with medical offices.  This attractively designed building is slated to have an environmentally friendly “green roof” and underground parking for up to 50 vehicles.

We expect to start construction in late September on the new surface parking lot to the west of the Tebo Family Medical Pavilion/Cancer Center.  This lot should accommodate 80+ vehicles.

Construction on the currently unfinished garden level of the Tebo Pavilion is also expected to begin this fall.  This space is being designed to house the hospital’s Human Resources, Medical Records and Employee Health departments, along with a number of conference rooms that will be available for campus-wide use.

The City is reviewing plans for the 100,000 sq. ft. expansion of the hospital portion of the campus.  This project will increase Foothills Hospital’s bed size from 60 to 135, and greatly expand the Emergency Department, Surgery, ICU, Laboratory, Imaging and other areas consistent with an acute care hospital.

The City review process is expected to extend into 2012.  We look forward to breaking ground on the hospital portion of the project during the first quarter of next year.   We expect to open the facility in early 2014.
